From the memory of stacked "stones" to "crystals" embracing light | 1945 Crystal Series Release

What is the Crystal Series? From "stone" to light.

The "1945" collection began by entrusting SHOLAYERED's layering philosophy to the form of "stacked stones." It has been a journey aiming for a form and fragrance that intuitively beautiful to anyone, while embodying a Japanese "Wa" aesthetic. Extending from that, the courage to intentionally move away from "stones" opened up a new vista.
The transparent bottle reflects light, and the color of the juice (liquid) subtly shines through. This transience and delicacy resonate with the world of fragrance, marking the beginning of a new chapter: transparency = crystal.

FOREST GREEN

Elegance that transitions from citrus to green. Enhancing its powerful lingering finish with added depth. The faint green of the bottle reflects the humidity of a misty forest and soft light. It gently accompanies you during daytime relaxation, subtly integrating into your space and body's flow, as if softly regulating your heartbeat.

TOP: Lychee, Bergamot, Pear
MIDDLE: Iris, Violet Leaf, Lily of the Valley
LAST: Musk, Amber, Vetiver

SUNSET

From dusk to night. A sensual lingering scent that captures the moment the sky's temperature changes. The lingering scent is stronger than before, becoming more alluring on the skin. The purplish juice hints at the "entrance to night." This twilight hour is most beautiful, and the drama deepens with every step you take.

TOP: Muscat, Coconut, Peach, Aldehyde, Bergamot, Green Apple, Mandarin Orange, Mandarin, Rosé Wine
MIDDLE: Lily of the Valley, Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Hyacinth, Freesia, Iris, Violet
LAST: Musk, Amber, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Benzoin

Design - Transparency is the most eloquent color.

True to its name, the crystal bottle embodies transparent space. Rather than asserting color, it embraces light, highlighting the very expression of the fragrance. Its appearance changes with the light source and time of day, subtly enhancing its presence as an interior accent.
How to use - Designing even the actions
Before putting on a T-shirt, one spray each on the inside (chest and torso). Then, two sprays each on the back of the hands for the outside. It floats gently when approached, and leaves a faint memory when distant. Creating "layers of scent" with distance is the SHOLAYERED way.
*Due to the colored liquid, please spray from a distance of 20cm or more. The color will almost never remain on clothing with normal use.

Layering Suggestions - Fragrance, beautiful as a multiplication

Layering <FOREST GREEN> with <LIGHT PINK> or <LIGHT GREEN> doubles the sense of cleanliness and transparency.
When <SUNSET> is layered with <Nishiazabu 1872>, sensual shadows emerge with every movement. It also pairs excellently with <FRESH PEAR>, <SUGAR LYCHEE>, and <BEIGE>. Add another half-step of nuance to your "staple."

Creator Interview

─What is the positioning of the "1945 Crystal Series" collection?

It's been about two and a half years since the launch of the "1945" collection. This collection began with an attempt to incorporate SHOLAYERED's "layering" style into the design of "stacked stones."
While embodying a Japanese "Wa" sensibility, we have aimed for shapes and fragrances that are intuitively beautiful to people of any country.
However, if we were too bound by the origin of "stones," the creative scope would be lost.
From there, the theme of "how to move away from stones" was consciously developed, leading to the ultimate goal of "transparency."
The transparent bottle reflects light, allowing the color of the liquid inside to subtly show through. We feel that this fragility and delicacy harmonize extremely well with SHOLAYERED's fragrance world.
The "1945 Crystal Series" was born from this concept.

─What is the meaning behind the name "Crystal"?
As a new chapter of "1945," it carries the meaning of a "shimmering and sparkling collection."
It is planned to consist of six types, including "Nishiazabu 1872," a crowdfunding-exclusive model for the opening of the SHOLAYERED Nishiazabu store, the brand's largest flagship store, which opened in spring 2025.
While inheriting the flow of the previous "1945" collection, it is structured as a lighter and more transparent lineup.

─I heard that the fragrance prototypes are based on past works.
Actually, <FOREST GREEN> and <SUNSET> are "self-cover" works that reconstruct fragrances we previously offered.
<FOREST GREEN> is based on <GREEN LEAF & IRIS>
<SUNSET> is based on <GRAPE VINE>.
At the time, both were regretfully overshadowed by other fragrances and didn't receive enough attention.
These are fragrances I've always wanted to revive in a way that suits the present era.
I believe this is a "self-revival" attempt that is only possible because the brand has over 10 years of history.

─Please tell us about the key points of the update.
The biggest change is the "strengthening of the base notes."
While maintaining the original fragrance composition, we've made it richer and more profound.
For <FOREST GREEN>,
It's an elegant fragrance that transitions from citrus to green. We've made its base stronger and added more depth.
For <SUNSET>,
We've enhanced its longevity compared to before, making it more sensual. It feels as if the times have caught up to this fragrance again.
Also, what was previously a single note has been updated to a pyramidal fragrance structure.
It has become a three-dimensional fragrance that unfolds beautifully from top to middle to base.

─What is the significance of the juice (liquid) color?
We believe it's very important for the scent and color to align.
<FOREST GREEN> evokes the freshness of citrus green and the healing sensation of a forest bath.
The green color is inspired by a slightly misty, humid forest.
<SUNSET> is a fragrance suitable for the transition from dusk to night.
This "entrance to night" mood is expressed through a purplish color.

─What scenes do you recommend it for?
<FOREST GREEN> is perfect for relaxing during the day.
The fragrance gently envelops moments of calm introspection.
<SUNSET> is ideal for evening and nighttime occasions.

─Do you have any recommended layering styles?
For <FOREST GREEN>,
layering with <LIGHT PINK> or <LIGHT GREEN> is recommended.
For <SUNSET>,
layering with <Nishiazabu 1872> is truly wonderful; the scents intertwine with every movement, making you fall in love with it yourself.
It also pairs exceptionally well with <FRESH PEAR>, <SUGAR LYCHEE>, and <BEIGE>.

─Please tell us your recommended application method.
On the inside of your body, before putting on a T-shirt, one spray each on the chest and torso, left and right.
On the outside, two sprays each on the back of your hands.
The scent on the back of your hands is easily conveyed to those around you as a first impression, while the scent on your body subtly wafts when someone gets closer.
This is the "SHOLAYERED" way to enjoy layering fragrances.

─The liquid is colored, but will it stain clothes?
If sprayed directly onto white fabric at close range, it may leave a mark, but there's no issue if you spray from about 20cm away.
Under normal use, the color will almost never remain on clothing.

─Finally, who would you like to deliver this "1945 Crystal Series" to?
The "1945" series, like stacked stones, changes form over time but its essence remains the same.
This "1945 Crystal Series" is its transparent "evolutionary form."
We hope you'll experience the joy of layering scents and a new form of beauty.
