OEM stands for "original equipment manufacturer."
Simply put, OEM is when production is outsourced.
OEM is an English abbreviation, but in my experience, it is probably not a word that is used often in Europe and the United States.
When we talk to European and American manufacturers and factories about OEM, they often don't understand and ask us to repeat ourselves.
My impression is that it is common among companies in Asia, including Japan, Korea, and China.
The most common demand for OEM perfumes is as souvenirs or novelty items.
Early November is a time when we receive more OEM inquiries.
Especially at this time of year, many people are thinking about perfume as part of the Christmas and New Year sales or as gifts.
Recently, the world has become a place where OEM is easily possible, with things like printing on mugs and making novelties out of T-shirts.
As a result, many people are requesting short delivery times.
However, when it comes to perfumes, we do not recommend OEM with short lead times.
If the fit of the container is not checked carefully, accidents can often occur.
So, how long should you wait for perfume OEM?

At scentnations (a LAYERED FRAGRANCE company), if we want to create something high-quality, we will deliver it four months after the specifications such as "scent," "size," "quantity," and "schedule" have been decided.
In other words, if you want your product to arrive on December 1st, for example, the above specifications must be decided during the summer in order for production to finish in time.
Some people may feel that the delivery time is too long.
However, this represents scentnations' approach to manufacturing.
We believe that products that are formulaic, such as choosing from a few different bottles or scents and then replacing the labels, cannot be called OEM.
